TYPE MS30 & MS31 - COMPACT STATIONARY SEAL AND CERAMIC SEAT
INTRODUCTION
The dimensional data provided may be used as a guide in providing proper seal space in new designs as well as comparing space requirements when considering the MS30 & MS31 seals as replacements for other type of rotating seals. If the dimensions are not adaptable, we can design and build a seal and seat configuration to meet your needs.
MATING RINGS
For optimum sealing and long seal life, NTI mating rings should be used with NTI seals. They are available in a variety of styles and configurations. Consult factory to determine the correct size mating ring to be used with your NTI seal selection.
IMPORTANT: In cases where the mating ring temperature changes drastically, such as dry starting, it is advisable to use a metal mating ring, as ceramic may crack.
GENERAL APPLICATION INFORMATION
NTI type MS30 & MS31 are an economical, press fit, designed for use in fluid or gas sealing of high R.P.M. shafts. Design features include sufficient clearance over shaft to allow for insulation sleeves and a mechanically engaged construction, enabling the seal to withstand accidental pressure reversals. Common uses include swimming pool pumps, chemical pumps, gear boxes, fire pumps, high speed automotive pumps.
