IMPORTANT: A simple way of obtaining a suitable mating surface is to insert a hard steel lapped washer. Clamp the washer in place either with a sleeve or by using a pin drive. Variations of these standard designs can be made to fill your requirements.
GENERAL APPLICATION INFORMATION
NTI type MTS6 seal will provide a rugged, maintenance free service with excellent oil retention for machine tools, gear boxes and other industrial equipment.

C. Rotating mating surface (describe bearing race, shaft shoulder)

INSTALLATION
Rotating mating face must be lapped flat and smooth - 6-8 RMS and 3-4 helium light bands flat. Suitable materials include close-grained cast iron, 52100 hardened steel or equivalent.
